Matar paneer is an Indian dish consisting of peas and paneer in a tomato based puree, spiced with many ingredients and served with steam rice, chapati, naan chapati etc. Matar paneer like by all over the world.
Different country has different names for this dish. but its firstly made in India. It is one of the most common dishes which is found in most of the occasions
in India. mostly people cook this recipe with their own style some prefer put potatoes also in a recipe. I learnt this recipe from myself and with the help of my friend who is a chef.

Ingredients for paste
2 teaspoons Oil
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds( jeera)
1 medium onion chopped
½ inch Ginger chopped
2-3 cloves Garlic chopped
2 Green chillies chopped
2-3 small tomato chopped
Ingredients for Matar Paneer Masala Recipe
200 gms paneer cut into cubes
1 cup Green Peas boiled
1 tablespoon Oil
¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
1 teaspoon Coriander powder
½ teaspoon Garam masala
Salt according to your taste
1 cup Water
1 tablespoon coriander leaves chopped
Preparation Time 10 mins
Cook Time 25 mins
Total Time 35 mins
Serving- 3 people
Making paste for Matar paneer
Take a pan and put it on a burner and add 2 tablespoon oil then add cumin seeds and cook for 30 seconds.
After that when cumin seed slightly brown in colour then add garlic, ginger and green chilli and saute at least for 1 minute.
Now we have to mix chopped onions and little bit salt, then cook until they become soft and transparent.
Now add chopped tomatoes and cook it till they become soft.
Once it cooled grind into a fine paste. keep aside.
Meanwhile, boil the green peas in microwave or pressure cooker and keep it aside.
Making Matar Paneer Recipe
Take a pan put it on burner and heat in medium flame add a 1table spoon of oil then add prepared paste.
Cook till all the moisture evaporates and becomes a thick paste.
Now we have to add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala mix it well and saute for at least 1minute.
Add water slowly make gravy consistency and simmer for at least 2-4 minutes.
Now we add boiled peas and paneer and mix it well, now let it be simmer again for at least 4-5 minutes.
in the end, add chopped coriander leaves.
now your Matar paneer is ready to serve. serve it with chapatis or rice/ fried rice.
